The prestigious single seater series A1GP returned to Brands Hatch for what was now the final round of the 2008/2009 season. The season finale was due to be held in Mexico City, but due to the current worries about Swine flu, the Kent circuit hosted the title decider. This was also the first visit of the new Ferrari powered A1GP cars to the British circuit. Switzerland, Ireland and Portugal were all in contention for the World Cup of Motorsport.
